Air fried chicken wings are quickly becoming my favourite go to protein. I like that the kids love them too, and I can whip it up in no time for a quick snack! This isn't my usual recipe though because I feel this recipe is better suited for an air fryer.
I decided to cook them in an air fryer because I wanted a healthier version of chicken wings. I was in hospital in April for a gallbladder infection, and also having gallstones, so now I just have to watch what I eat.
My favourite thing about cooking these chicken wings in the air fryer? Not having to waste time heating up oil!
These air fried chicken wings will take roughly 30 minutes to cook and has very little cleaning. That's my type of cooking! If you don't have an air fryer, you can put them under the grill.
Chicken wings – 1 kg
Oyster sauce – 2 tbsp
Soy sauce – 1 tbsp
Baking & Spices
Garlic granules – 1/2 tbsp
Cracked pepper – 1 tsp
Step 1. Firstly, I like to rinse the chicken wings (in cold water) and pluck off any leftover feathers. Then put them in a large bowl or container, something you can mix them in.
Step 2. Add all the condiments and spices to the chicken and mix it through thoroughly. Leave this marinade in for at least 10 minutes.
Step 3. Place half the amount of chicken wings into the air fryer. With the temperature set at 200 degrees, I turn the timer on for 7 minutes.
I like to cook them half way so I can turn them over to get an even cook.
Step 4. Once you've turned them over, put the timer back on for another 7 minutes.
You Should now have some very good looking, juicy and tasty air fried chicken wings! Repeat the steps above to cook the rest of the chicken. Enjoy!
